Sisters of Sinister present… Hey Teacher, Leave Those Kids Alone!

Soooo…. this is the flyer I did for Sisters of Sinister’s event, Hey Teacher, Leave Those Kids Alone! The event is being held at the Lawrenceville Moose in Pittsburgh, PA on August 19, 2011. It costs just $15 and features Defunct! as well as a barrage of local supporting acts.

This was a really fun design to do. I’ve been finding that lately I’ve been getting “lost” in design more and more and really paying attention to the details, trying new things, learning new things, etc.. I know, it’s how I always should have been, but life is stressful and sometimes you just don’t have time to put into the things you love. (I know, it’s a good quote. You can use it. :P)

But yeah, I’m still on the “do what I like” kick, so hopefully all my upcoming designs will keep improving. 🙂 Oh and as always you can find more info at lolli.org!

Sisters of Sinister & plur.fm Present “Sprung”

This is the flyer I did for Sisters of Sinister & plur.fm’s event “Sprung”. It will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Pittsburgh PA. It’s got a great local lineup of talent all for just $10.00! Check lolli.org for more info as always.

B.A.D. Ass & Sinister Movement present “Revolution”

This is the flyer I did for the upcoming Sinister Movement and B.A.D. Ass. event “Revolution” on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Elks Lodge in Braddock (suburb of Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania. The event will begin with a free open discussion with topics ranging from politics and oil prices to the NWO and 2012. Talent for the evening will feature 45 Thieves, Ill Atmospherics, The Animal Crackers and What the Bleep supported by local acts Abduction vs Hooty, Tika, Eryn Evans, Kilo, Omen and Data C. The event is $20 and as always more info can be found at lolli.org.

This design was a cool one to do. The promoter provided photos taken from the controversial riots and protests surrounding the G-20 Summit that was held in Pittsburgh in September of 2009. The powerful photos were, in my opinion, the perfect background for an event titled “Revolution”.

Sisters of Sinister & Sunset til Sunrise present Freeze This 3

Excuse the sizing on this one (and the fact that I’m typing in blue)… I’m a little format challenged this evening. Anyhow, this is the flyer I put together for Sister of Sinister & Sunset til Sunrise’s event Freeze This 3. I’m a bit late getting it posted (the holidays were quite hectic as was the 9-5 job). Anyways, this was a fun one to do. I ended up referencing some mid 90’s design and a style much different than anything I’ve done recently. I think it turned out A-OK. For reviews and pics of the event visit lolli.org. Welp, that’s about all I have to say about that one! I know I have been MIA for the past few months but expect to see posts more frequently going into 2011. Thanks!! Happy New Year!

B.A.D.Ass. & Sisters of Sinister present FUNNK’D UP

Casualties (Tika, Nick Fury, Barrenzemo), Colin Pierce vs Naoko, J-me vs. Eryn Evans, & Trackzploitation. The event will be at the Braddock Elk’s Lodge. More info can be found at lolli.org.

GLO Productions presents GLO in tha Dark!

So, I love this design. I really really love it. Haha! I rarely create everything for a design, and this time I did. I created the blacklight-esque illustration on the front and then picked up the coloration throughout the entire piece. I definitely struggled with it, as I’m no illustrator.  Originally I had tried to commission an art student to assist me with this design. We got through the initial brainstorming process and then she asked what the event was. I told her flat out… it’s a rave. I then explained to her that doing design for raves has been my entire freelance business for the past 3 years and that is has given me a lot of great opportunities as far as getting my work out there, doing what I love, making $$$ (hehe), etc. Apparently exposure and money weren’t enough for her! Crazy, huh? If I have learned NOTHING ELSE since I have graduated college it has been this… If you are going to picky in the world of Graphic Design… you’re going to be jobless. /rant. Anyhow, when she left me high and dry was when I figured I’d be fine on my own. 🙂

So this is a very trance/hardcore heavy party, which is awesome. I haven’t been to a trance party in a while (I’ll pass on the hardcore though, thank you very much). Tom Colontonio headlines this event, as well as No Left Turn and Ian K. Supporting djs are Tika (one of my very close friends), Doverspike, Eric Bliss, Omen, Eryn Evans, Joltz, Sean 2:16, Kevin King, Dougie & Sam, Fatt Kid, Skootz, Agent Smith & Zone, and Justin Beavers (not to be confused with Justin Bieber… however that would be quite awesome if Justin Bieber showed up at a rave.)

Anyhow, you can read more about the event at Lolli.org. It will definitely be a partAY you don’t want to miss! 🙂
