Sisters of Sinister & Sunset til Sunrise present Freeze This 3

Excuse the sizing on this one (and the fact that I’m typing in blue)… I’m a little format challenged this evening. Anyhow, this is the flyer I put together for Sister of Sinister & Sunset til Sunrise’s event Freeze This 3. I’m a bit late getting it posted (the holidays were quite hectic as was the 9-5 job). Anyways, this was a fun one to do. I ended up referencing some mid 90’s design and a style much different than anything I’ve done recently. I think it turned out A-OK. For reviews and pics of the event visit lolli.org. Welp, that’s about all I have to say about that one! I know I have been MIA for the past few months but expect to see posts more frequently going into 2011. Thanks!! Happy New Year!

GLO Productions presents GLO in tha Dark!

So, I love this design. I really really love it. Haha! I rarely create everything for a design, and this time I did. I created the blacklight-esque illustration on the front and then picked up the coloration throughout the entire piece. I definitely struggled with it, as I’m no illustrator.  Originally I had tried to commission an art student to assist me with this design. We got through the initial brainstorming process and then she asked what the event was. I told her flat out… it’s a rave. I then explained to her that doing design for raves has been my entire freelance business for the past 3 years and that is has given me a lot of great opportunities as far as getting my work out there, doing what I love, making $$$ (hehe), etc. Apparently exposure and money weren’t enough for her! Crazy, huh? If I have learned NOTHING ELSE since I have graduated college it has been this… If you are going to picky in the world of Graphic Design… you’re going to be jobless. /rant. Anyhow, when she left me high and dry was when I figured I’d be fine on my own. 🙂

So this is a very trance/hardcore heavy party, which is awesome. I haven’t been to a trance party in a while (I’ll pass on the hardcore though, thank you very much). Tom Colontonio headlines this event, as well as No Left Turn and Ian K. Supporting djs are Tika (one of my very close friends), Doverspike, Eric Bliss, Omen, Eryn Evans, Joltz, Sean 2:16, Kevin King, Dougie & Sam, Fatt Kid, Skootz, Agent Smith & Zone, and Justin Beavers (not to be confused with Justin Bieber… however that would be quite awesome if Justin Bieber showed up at a rave.)

Anyhow, you can read more about the event at Lolli.org. It will definitely be a partAY you don’t want to miss! 🙂

B.A.D. Ass. presents SATURN feat. AK1200

SATURN_frontback_preview

This is the flyer for the 6th installment of the B.A.D. Ass. Planetary Series. The party is going to take place March 6th and the headliner is AK1200!! I’m definitely excited to see AK… I’ve gotten to see Dieselboy multiple times, Dara, etc.. but as far as this Planet of the Drums DJ, this will be my first time.  As with the 5 previous, this flyer fits into the connecting solar system layout. Only a few left! It seems like just yesterday I started on Mercury but it’s already going on nearly a year that we started this series. Keep posted on http://www.lolli.org for all the latest party info, and I can definitely say that I will see you on March 6th for some dirty dirty drum and bass!
