GLO Productions presents GLO in tha Dark!

So, I love this design. I really really love it. Haha! I rarely create everything for a design, and this time I did. I created the blacklight-esque illustration on the front and then picked up the coloration throughout the entire piece. I definitely struggled with it, as I’m no illustrator.  Originally I had tried to commission an art student to assist me with this design. We got through the initial brainstorming process and then she asked what the event was. I told her flat out… it’s a rave. I then explained to her that doing design for raves has been my entire freelance business for the past 3 years and that is has given me a lot of great opportunities as far as getting my work out there, doing what I love, making $$$ (hehe), etc. Apparently exposure and money weren’t enough for her! Crazy, huh? If I have learned NOTHING ELSE since I have graduated college it has been this… If you are going to picky in the world of Graphic Design… you’re going to be jobless. /rant. Anyhow, when she left me high and dry was when I figured I’d be fine on my own. 🙂

So this is a very trance/hardcore heavy party, which is awesome. I haven’t been to a trance party in a while (I’ll pass on the hardcore though, thank you very much). Tom Colontonio headlines this event, as well as No Left Turn and Ian K. Supporting djs are Tika (one of my very close friends), Doverspike, Eric Bliss, Omen, Eryn Evans, Joltz, Sean 2:16, Kevin King, Dougie & Sam, Fatt Kid, Skootz, Agent Smith & Zone, and Justin Beavers (not to be confused with Justin Bieber… however that would be quite awesome if Justin Bieber showed up at a rave.)

Anyhow, you can read more about the event at Lolli.org. It will definitely be a partAY you don’t want to miss! 🙂

Okay so this is somewhat minuscule on here, BUT… this is the first job done of the fall flyer frenzy that has just been dropped in my lap. Price is $15 at the gate OR $25 at the gate for all you can drink keg beer. (Must be 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink.)

GLO, 412 Jungle Junkies, & Infrastructure present Double Dutch

The event takes place on June 16, 2010 at the Millsite Tavern (2512 East Carson Street in the South Side, Pittsburgh). It features Genr8 with support from Ben Matrix, Zone, Sean 2:16, Collin, Arkham, Keenan, and Xero.

TWT Soldiers & GLO Productions Present Trainwreck Thursdays

This is a 4×6 flyer I did for TWT Soldiers and GLO for the return of Trainwreck Tuesdays Thursdays. Trainwreck is a weekly designed for new DJs to get used to playing in front of a crowd. When they trainwreck the crowd is supposed to boo, hiss, so on and so forth, so that upcoming DJs don’t think it’s acceptable to well… play like sh*t. Trainwreck Thursdays take place every week in South Side at the Millsite Tavern at 2512 East Carson Street. $3 cover.. so very affordable. AND! Each time a DJ trainwrecks you can get shots for $1. Trainwreck weeklies are a great part of the Pittsburgh scene and personally I’m glad to have them back. *Also one thing to note. I actually took the photo for this flyer down in the Strip District. So this is a design completely and totally 1000000000% from scratch. OoooOoOooOOOoohhh!!! 🙂
