Opus One, Sunset til Sunrise & Promo West (North Shore) present Pittsburgh Electronic Music Festival
This is the artwork I did for PEMF (Pittsburgh Electronic Music Fest) happening in Pittsburgh on Sunday July 3, 2011. It features MSTRKRFT & Excision (yay) as well as Mux Mool and other supporting acts TBA. It’s happening at Stage AE on the North Shore.
This was a fun piece to do. Everything was created in Photoshop from scratch using a bunch of crazy techniques, which I’m trying to do more and more. Learning Photoshop completely is like telling yourself you’re going to learn every language that exists in the world. It’s impossible, but… I’m trying. Thankfully there are about a bazillion Photoshop tutorial sites out there which are proving quite helpful.
Anyhow, check out this event. It’ll be a good time, especially considering it’s happening on one of those rare Sundays when you can go out and party and have fun and not have to work the next day! Gotta love that! As always, for more info check out lolli.org.
This is the flyer I did for Sisters of Sinister & plur.fm’s event “Sprung”. It will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Pittsburgh PA. It’s got a great local lineup of talent all for just $10.00! Check lolli.org for more info as always.
This is the flyer I designed for Sunset til Sunrise’s event Disco InFoamo 2. This two day event will happen Friday, May 13th at Altar Bar in the Strip and then on Saturday, may 14th at the Irish Centre in Squirrel Hill. The event will feature KJ Sawka, Larry Tee and a variety of regional and local talents.
This is the flyer I did for the upcoming Sinister Movement and B.A.D. Ass. event “Revolution” on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Elks Lodge in Braddock (suburb of Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania. The event will begin with a free open discussion with topics ranging from politics and oil prices to the NWO and 2012. Talent for the evening will feature 45 Thieves, Ill Atmospherics, The Animal Crackers and What the Bleep supported by local acts Abduction vs Hooty, Tika, Eryn Evans, Kilo, Omen and Data C. The event is $20 and as always more info can be found at lolli.org.
This design was a cool one to do. The promoter provided photos taken from the controversial riots and protests surrounding the G-20 Summit that was held in Pittsburgh in September of 2009. The powerful photos were, in my opinion, the perfect background for an event titled “Revolution”.
This is the flyer I did for Legions of Dance’s “Meltdowns: Party in My Pants” event. The event was Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Elks Lodge in Braddock (suburb of Pittsburgh), PA. The event featured Gobs the Zombie as well as various local talents. You’ll notice a blurred out portion of the flyer. Unfortunately after the flyer was printed there was a change to the lineup.
Although simple, I had a lot of fun with this flyer.
This is actually a project I did at the end of 2010, but I have been quite delinquent in updating my blog (oops!). The owner of the soon-to-be plur.fm approached me to do some graphics for her new website, plur.fm which to put it simply…
“Pittsburgh Local Underground Radio showcases Pittsburgh’s rave scene DJs and music producers with a 24/7/365 radio station and scheduled live sets. PLUR.fm can be listened to on many devices. For specific instructions please check out our Listen page
If you’re a DJ or electronic music producer who plays music at raves in pittsburgh and would like your music on this station, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
For this project I created the logo, buttons (white text that rolls over to a colored gradient), as well as the footer. Although pretty different from what I usually do, the owner of plur.fm seemed pretty happy with the outcome and the website has been a success so far!
This is the flyer I did for the 1337, Opus One and Sunset til Sunrise party “Wanna See Something Sweet?” happening on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Mr. Small’s Funhouse in Millvale (suburb of Pittsburgh), PA. The night features Japanese DMC turntablist Kentaro, San Francisco’s The Genie, as well as local talent Doverspike and Sunset til Sunrise.
This was a fun flyer to do. When I got the project, the name of the party and the the bar codes… I instantly wanted to do a meme flyer. Most of the memes are from the past few years, however as you’ll notice, some hail from the late and early 90’s. I believe there are at least 50 memes on the flyer… including “Hide You Kids, Hide You Wife”, “Backtraced It”, “Dancing Baby”, “LOL WUT”, “O RLY?”, “Hipster Little Mermaid”, “Epic Fail”, “I Can Haz Cheezburger”, “Turrets Guy”, “All Your Base are Belong to Us”, “Vuvuzella”, “Chocolate Rain”, “Deal with It”, “Homestar Runner”, and many more!
More info on the event can always be found at lolli.org.
This is the flyer I did for B.A.D.Ass. & Sisters of Sinister’s event, “FUNNK’D UP”. It features Le Funnk from Birmingham, UK. Supporting local talent are 7up, Dizzy & DVS, Omen, Eric Bliss, 40 oz. Casualties (Tika, Nick Fury, Barrenzemo), Colin Pierce vs Naoko, J-me vs. Eryn Evans, & Trackzploitation. The event will be at the Braddock Elk’s Lodge. More info can be found at lolli.org.
Here is the flyer I did for Sinister Movements Get Spooky 3. The event takes place on October 22, 2010 at the legendary classic venue… The Coliseum. Lineup features Empress, Lea Luna, Product 19, Kastle, and a variety of quality local talent. Admission is $20 and more info can be found at lolli.org.
